Judgement Day! Saints vs Devils

Judgement Day! Saints vs Devils

The long wait for the BAFL 1 season to get started is almost over.

On Sunday April 13th the Oxford Saints will make the long journey north to face the Norwich Devils, in what promises to be an explosive opening to the season.

The newly promoted Devils are coming off of a fantastic campaign in 2007 which saw them go undefeated all season, ending with a Bowl victory over Dundee, confirming them as the 2007 Div 2 Champions, earning them promotion to Div 1. Lead by Head Coach Nick Rockell, the Devils will be looking to take full advantage of being at home.

The Saints have undergone some major rebuilding during the off season. After ironing out some creases in their warm up game against Hampshire, the Saints will be looking to start the season with a bang.

Oxford have been bolstered by the signing of ex London O, Jay Taylor. Jay lines up at QB in a backfield oozing talent. Returning vets Bryan Myers and Chris ‘The Horse’ Taylor will again be making a formidable duo at RB.

The Saints ‘Pain Gang’ defence looked in awesome mood against Hampshire and are chomping at the bit to get after the Devils. The D will again be lead by inspirational Linebackers Andrew ‘Snake’ Day and Ian ‘Ice’ Harry with 2nd year man Ross Gouldie and big hitting American Ywantro Paisley making up the quartet.

The D line will be filled once more by the dominating trio of Graeme Cribbes, Stephen Bentley and big Tex Johnson.

So Here We Go

Oxford or Norwich. Saints vs Devils

Will new QB Jay Taylor lead the Saints O to victory against a punishing Norwich Defence?

Will the big bad Saints O-line bulldoze a way through for ‘The Horse’ Taylor to gallop up and down through a field of little Devils?

Will Coach Rockell’s Devils chalk up yet another victory and take their undefeated run into 2008?

Or will the step up for the high powered Norwich offence be a step to far, against a big hitting Saints D, hell bent on destruction?

The Day of Reckoning is Here!
