Saints Announce New Head Coach for 2012

The Oxford Saints are pleased to announce the appointment of former player, defensive co-ordinator and Oxford American Football legend Andrew 'Snake' Day as the new head coach of the team for the 2012 season.

During his long and illustrious career with the Saints 'Snake' led the defense from his middle linebacker position, winning numerous team awards and was the MVP in the Saints first championship win in 1995.

As Oxford chairman John Farley explained 'over the last couple of years Andrew has taken on more and more of the coaching responsibility, and to great effect

The next, logical step was to appoint him to the Head Coach position. We are looking forward to the 2012 season with Coach Day at the helm and on behalf of the entire Saints committee we wish him every success in the 2012 campaign. Andrew has the full support and backing of everyone connected with the club, committee, players and supporters.'

As the preparations for the 2012 pre-season begin in earnest Coach Day will now begin the process of assembling his coaching and playing staff. Full details of the Saints schedule will be published in due course.
