Walter at the double for the Saints

The Oxford youngsters learnt another tough lesson about Division 1 football against a well organised Nottingham Caesars.
Sunday saw another bad day at the office and another heavy defeat for the Oxford Saints.
The Saints injury ravaged season continued when they could only travel with half their squad to Nottingham on Sunday due to so many injuries.
The damage was done in the 1st quarter by the potent Nottingham pass attack, racking up 21 points against the undermanned Saints team. The 2nd quarter wasn’t much better for the Saints with the first half ending 38-2 in favour of the home side, the Saints only score of the half coming on a safety when a bad snap from Nottingham sailed out the back of their end zone.
The Saints came out in the 2nd half with nothing to fight for but their own respectability. Two scores from Saints new boy Devon Powell helped restore some pride. Powell returned a kickoff 71 yards for an electrifying touchdown and then grabbed another stunning score, this time linking up with QB Scott Gallen for a 70 yard pass play. The Saints defence also improved in the 2nd half but still struggled to keep the Nottingham offence out of the end zone.
The game ended 52 – 15.
The Saints now have a 3 week break before travelling to the Leicester Falcons. They hope to use the break to try and get some of their injured players back to fitness.
