Following a very successful 2009 campaign the Oxford Saints (www.oxfordsaints.com) are now recruiting coaches and back room staff for the 2010 season. The Saints finished with an 8-2 win-loss record competing in the British American Football League (BAFL) Division 1.
The Saints are looking for coaches and assistants in the following areas:
The Saints currently based at Oxford Rugby Club offer coaches a chance to work in an established programme with a large squad, dedicated front office team and a desire to progress the team on and off the field.
Above all, prospective coaches should have a passion for the sport and the desire and ability to teach others.
Positional coaches should have at least 3 years playing or coaching experience (preferably at the position they wish to teach). Assistant coaches should have some prior experience of the game. All candidates are required to obtain or currently hold the BAFCA Level 1 qualification and insurance (this can be arranged through the club).
Coaches will be expected to commit to at least 1 session a week (Sunday) in February and March and 2 sessions a week from Mid April to September (mid week and Sundays). It is expected preliminary coaching sessions will begin in February. The regular season is May to August, with the post season in September.
The club is also looking to recruit 3 Game Day Assistants to be part of the football operations team. This is a great chance for individuals to get involved with the sport of American Football and be part of the Oxford Saints team.
All interested parties should contact coaching@oxfordsaints.com, providing a brief summary of your football experience, contact information and the position you are interested in.
