Mr Mystery strikes again!
I am back with some advise to all you wanna be NFL superstars. You now walk the walk and understand what you should be putting in to your bodies, but how do you now use that energy and protein in the right way.
Well fear not, Mr Mystery is here to steer you in the right direction. You ask yourself so many times, how do the other players around me get muscles like that and get that strong, look that good. Well hard hitting truth people, they hit the gym and put the hard work in. It amazes me how so many players believe they can get bigger and stronger without lifting the weights. Hard work will give you the results.
News flash from Mr Mystery, there are no short cuts in the gym! You wanna get bigger, stronger, faster, then you need to train harder than anyone around you. You think it is a fluke that the best players in your team and in the league have speed, strength, agility. Wake up and smell the coffee people, they train hard and are truly dedicated to becoming the best.
So with all that in mind, how do we get you to be the biggest meanest football player you can be? Well first of all I want to address your state of mind. I will look at training techniques and exercises later. Before you can do all of these you must be mentally tough enough to apply pressure to yourself to do what is required.
We all know what the British weather is like, and how cold and miserable it is, yet how often do you use it as an excuse? Training is all about choices. Do you push yourself that little bit harder when you train or did you cheat yourself of that extra rep because nobody was watching. The truth is that it is always going to be a mental battle to push yourself every time, but you make the choices on how hard and often you train. If you can’t push yourself then get a training partner!
Have a goal in the back of your mind every time you train. Every rep you do remember why you are doing it. Have that chip on your shoulder to prove everyone wrong and that you should be considered as the best player to play the game. It is the times when you don’t want to train because it is cold and horrible that you get the best results. Dedication is the key, and unless you are prepared to commit then you will always be that tubby, weak, thin, feeble, non durable player that won’t get much game time.
Your playing career is in your hands, and you can get positive results quicker than you think. “But I don’t know how to train properly”. Hey that’s ok, at least you are addressing it and showing positive signs that you want to know how to train to be able to reach your goal. Everyone starts somewhere, do you think Arny was born with the knowledge of how to lift weights. No he learnt from others. Read books, look at videos on the net, do internet searches. The world is full of info that will help you become better. Ask others in the gym that know what they are doing.
Don’t make excuses, start changing your mind set towards becoming mentally tougher, and go the extra bit to become the player!!
Mr Mystery signing out until next time.
